Fitbit makes some great products aimed at those who like to remain active and fit. The company has launched a new service today to appeal to a different set of customers. Fitbit Care is a new coaching service which will help users stay on course to achieve their fitness goals and help them get in shape. The service will connect them with coaches who will work with them throughout their fitness journey.
Even though the company focuses on the average consumer with its hardware products, Fitbit Care is aimed more at health systems or employers that want to track their employees’ health efforts to keep medical costs in check.
Fitbit Care will offer personalized coaching to customers so that they can stick to their fitness plans, lose weight, and also manage chronic diseases. Data will play a role in ensuring that they meet their goals. Fitbit Care will work with a new app called Fitbit Plus. It will be capable of pulling data from Fitbit’s hardware products in addition to select blood pressure monitors.
Health insurance provider Humana has already picked Fitbit Care as its preferred coaching solution for its employer group segment. Over 5 million Humana members will be able to access Fitbit’s health coaching and wellness solutions through a range of programs.
