Over the weekend thanks to a leak, the name Diablo: Reign Of Terror was revealed. This has led to speculation that this could be the name of Blizzard’s next Diablo title. Unfortunately for Diablo hopefuls, that doesn’t seem to be the case as Blizzard has since put those rumors and speculation to rest.

In a statement made by a Blizzard spokesperson, “These are names and copy used for some of the new products available at BlizzCon this year, and not direct references to content at the show.” This has since been revealed to be posters and t-shirts that feature the Diablo: Reign of Terror branding, much to the disappointment of many gamers.

That being said, this year’s BlizzCon is expected to share more details about the future of the Diablo franchise. So far Blizzard has revealed some of their plans which includes launching a copy of the game on the Nintendo Switch. There are also rumors about a possible Diablo animated series launching on Netflix so that could be revealed at BlizzCon next month.

Many are understandably hoping that the event will see Blizzard confirm a new Diablo game. After all there hasn’t really been any major releases since the Reaper of Souls expansion a few years ago. Analysts have speculated that a Diablo 4 could arrive in 2020, so we’ll have to wait and see if 2018’s BlizzCon will reveal anything new.
