Valve has a new game in the works that is due to be launched and its name is Artifact. For those who are hearing about this for the first time, this is a digital card game similar to other games like Blizzard’s Hearthstone or Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls: Legends, and just like those games which are based on existing franchises, Artifact will be based on Dota 2.

Now given that games like Dota 2 are pretty much focused on multiplayer, trying to fit in lore in such a game can be tricky (to date Valve has introduced some lore), but Valve wants to try anyway which is why they have announced that for Artifact, they’ll be releasing comics that will help provide the game a bit of backstory and lore for players who might be interested in such things.

It seems that this might not necessarily only be exclusive to Artifact because according to Valve, these comics are expected to introduce a “series of events that will transform the world of Dota forever.” The comics will be released digitally and seem to be free to access where it can be found on Valve’s website. It can also be downloaded in CBZ format in case you want to take it with you and read it offline.

So far only the first part of the comic has been launched and the second part is expected to be released soon that should coincide with the release of the game as well.
