Epic Games announced today that the next major mode adds a touch of Minecraft to Fortnite, its most popular game. The Fortnite Creative mode arrives as part of the game’s seventh season and puts an emphasis on building instead of battling. Epic says that the mode provides users with a brand new way to experience Fortnite.

“Design games, race around the island, battle your friends in new ways and build your dream Fortnite. It’s all happening on your own private island where everything you make is saved,” it explains on the website.

Epic adds that Battle Pass owners will get access to a private island for the first week of Season 7. This early access period will allow Battle Pass owners to invite their friends to play on the island. All players will have access to the private island for free starting December 13th.

It also points out that while Fortnite Creative is a new and exciting mode, it’s not final. Epic will continue to add new features and improvements over the next few updates. It makes a commitment to improve this mode over time like it does with Battle Royale and Save the World.

Fortnite Creative will be rolling out tomorrow, December 6th.
