Verizon today announced the largest expansion of its TravelPass program ever since it was launched. The carrier has added 54 additional countries to the list, bringing the total number of destinations where this program works to over 185. The carrier points out that over 99 percent of all of its customers who travel are now covered by TravelPass.

Launched in 2015, Verizon TravelPass initially enabled subscribers to use their ongoing plan’s data, text, and talk time internationally in over 65 countries for a minor fee. It has since been expanding the number of locations where TravelPass can be used.

The biggest change has been made today with the addition of 54 new countries to the list. It now includes popular destinations such as Qatar, Kenya, Egypt, and Morocco. TravelPass essentially makes the subscriber’s wireless plan travel with them for $10 per day. They can get it for $5 per day if they’re traveling to Canada and Mexico if that’s not included in their domestic plan already.

Subscribers can then use their phone as they do at home with unlimited calling, texting, and access to 4G LTE data. Customers only pay for TravelPass on the days that they use their phone abroad, a session is triggered by making a call, sending a text or using data on the device. They’re allowed 0.5GB of high speed data per 24 hour session.
