It wouldn’t be wrong to say that there’s a lot of excitement for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. The cable giant’s most popular show will be returning in April, that much it has previously confirmed, and it has now revealed when it’s going to reveal the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere date. Yes, I know how that sounds, but you can cut HBO some slack for trying to milk the final season for all its worth.

HBO revealed when it’s going to announce the Game of Thrones season 8 premiere date in a cryptic tweet over the weekend. It shows a text conversation which mentions that we’ll be able to find out when Game of Thrones premieres on Sunday before season 3 of True Detective begins.

This means that HBO will most likely be putting up a teaser before the latest season of True Detective airs to finally announce when Game of Thrones fans can expect the first episode of the final season to air.

It’s as yet unclear if and when a full trailer for the new Game of Thrones season is going to arrive. There’s a lot of anticipation for that as well but HBO is yet to confirm or even hint at its expected arrival.
