If a new report is anything to go by, Samsung is developing a new Galaxy A series handset. The devices in this series are premium mid-rangers which means this so-called Galaxy A50 will have similar characteristics. According to a report, the Galaxy A50 is going to have a 4,000mAh battery.

That’s going to be a chunky battery for a device of this sort. For context, Samsung currently offers a 4,000mAh battery on the Galaxy Note 9, a flagship smartphone that costs around $1,000. The Galaxy A50 will be nowhere near that in terms of specs or price for that matter.

The report mentions that the Galaxy A50 will likely feature a 4,000mAh battery, putting it a cut above other Galaxy A handsets which include the Galaxy A9 (2018), Galaxy A8+ and the Galaxy A8 Star. The battery should provide an impressive screen-on time when coupled with the battery improvements promised by Android Pie. A recent benchmark listing for this device suggested that it will ship with Android Pie out of the box.

The Galaxy A50 is also expected to ship with a 24-megapixel rear camera which is not that different from the new Galaxy A handsets shipped in 2018. It will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants with an Exynos 9610 processor and at least 4GB of RAM when it does arrive in the coming months.
