One of things that gaming smartphones love to boast over other smartphones is their cooling systems, where they claim that the use of proprietary cooling systems will allow their phones to maintain higher performance while keeping the phones cooled. However, it seems that Nubia could have taken things to the next level.

The company has recently announced their latest gaming handset in the form of the Nubia Red Magic 3, in which one of the highlights of the smartphone is how it comes with a built-in cooling fan. Yes, given that smartphone makers love showing off how thin their phones are, there is a reason why many have not opted to include fans, but it seems that Nubia is going in a different direction.

The fan in the phone is said to be capable of spinning at speeds up to 14,000 RPM, and it also boasts an IP55 rating. It is also isolated in its own chamber, so you don’t need to worry about dust or water getting in and spoiling it. According to Nubia, they claim that the use of the fan makes the phone five times more effective compared to regular passive cooling methods.

As for the rest of its specs, given that this is a flagship smartphone, it will be running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also features a 5,000mAh battery with support for USB Power Delivery. Interestingly enough, Nubia has opted to give the phone a single rear-facing 48MP f/1.7 camera and a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter.

Other features of the phone include capacitive shoulder buttons, an RGB light strip on the back, and also a built-in fingerprint sensor. Interestingly enough, the phone isn’t particularly expensive either where the 6GB RAM and 64GB model will be priced starting at $430.
