A lot of people have problems with package thieves. Their packages are picked up by thieves from right outside their doorstep. Customers who are fed up of this can now take advantage of the Amazon Key service which provides in-garage delivery. Amazon started testing this service in 37 cities across the United States earlier this year.

Amazon Key for Garage allows eligible Amazon Prime members to have their packages delivered to their garage using the Key Smart Garage Kit. They just have to select “In-Garage Delivery” at checkout online and the package will then be delivered to their garage.

Customers will also be able to check the status of their garage door in the Key by Amazon app which will allow them to remotely open or close it. Customers can also choose to add an Amazon Cloud Cam (Key Edition) to the kit so that they can see a live stream of their garage at any time or just view the clips of entries, including the deliveries.

The kit gives Amazon couriers access to the garage so that they can securely place the packages inside. Those who already have a myQ-connected smart garage only need to download the Key app just to sync their Amazon and myQ accounts. Those who don’t can purchase the myQ Smart Garage hub from Amazon for $49.99. That’s a limited time price as the hub normally costs $79.99.
