The other day it was rumored that DJI could be working on a GoPro competitor in the form of their own action camera. Now thanks to leaked images obtained by Photo Rumors, it seems that we now have an idea of what we might be able to expect in terms of the camera’s design. They have also managed to get their hands on the alleged specifications of the camera.

In terms of design, it seems that DJI isn’t deviating too far from the standard look of most action cameras, but then again given the size of such cameras, it doesn’t offer up a lot of space to innovate with its design. From what we can tell, it seems like there could be a display on the front and on the back, where the front-facing camera could allow users to hold the camera in selfie view. The lens also seems to protrude quite a bit, making the camera seem rather “fat”.

As for its specs, the DJI Osmo action camera is rumored to sport a 1/2.3-inch 12MP CMOS sensor from Sony, a H2 image processor, a shutter speed of 1/8000-120s, and it can also shoot 4K video at 60fps, HDR, and there will also be supported for automatic time-lapse photography. DJI is expected to make the official announcement come 15th of May, so do check back with us then if you’d like all the details.
