Next Sunday is set to be possibly one of the biggest moments in TV history ever. Why do we say this? This is because next Sunday will be the final episode for HBO’s Game of Thrones series, and judging by all the episodes that have aired to date, we expect that it will be a pretty big one.
It is also expected to be the longest episode of the series to date, but we shouldn’t be surprised as the showrunners will need to wrap everything up. That being said, if you are curious, the trailer for the final episode is here and if you’d rather not spoil it for yourself or if you haven’t caught up yet, then it’s probably best to avoid it.
What’s interesting is seeing how the series could end simply because, for the past couple of seasons, the showrunners and writers for the series did not have any source material to work with. George R.R. Martin, the author of the original books, did reveal to the producers how he plans to end it, but how different it will be compared to the show remains to be seen.
That being said, anyone expecting a happy ending could be sorely disappointed. Game of Thrones, so far, has managed to shock and surprise viewers with various twists and turns with moments that one might not necessarily expect from regular television. Will the final episode stick to that? We suppose we’ll have to wait and find out.
