There are several HTC smartphones out there that are compatible with Android 9.0 Pie and yet they haven’t received the update. The Taiwanese company has now provided some clarity on the matter and confirmed that the HTC U11, U11+, and the HTC U12+ will be receiving their much-awaited Android 9 Pie update starting this month.

The company has confirmed the Pie release schedule for these devices through its official Twitter account. The HTC U11 will be the first among the devices to get its Android 9.0 Pie update in May 2019. The roll out will begin for the HTC U12+ in June while the U11+ is said to receive its update in late June this year.

No precise release dates have been mentioned and HTC does caution that region and carrier deployment can affect the dates. That’s pretty much the norm and to be expected with major Android OS updates.

HTC’s Pie release timeline for these devices is in line with what the company had previously announced. So it’s only a matter of time now for those who own these devices before they can get a taste of Pie on their handsets as well. It is indeed about time that they got in on the Pie action as well.
