PewDiePie Loses As Rival Channel Becomes First To Hit 100 Million Subscribers

PewDiePie was the YouTuber with the most amount of subscribers for the longest time and for the most part, he seemed set to become the first to hit 100 million subscribers. However, Bollywood music channel T-Series started catching up to him which started off the whole PewDiePie vs T-Series competition. While the former bowed out of the competition a couple of months ago after T-Series overtook him, it has now become the first channel to hit 100 million subscribers on YouTube globally.

YouTube itself tweeted congratulations of this momentous occasion to T-Series as it finally finished the race to 100 million subscribers. No other channel on YouTube has crossed this figure and it may just be a while now before that happens again.

It’s obviously a moment of pride for the channel to become the world’s first to hit 100 million subscribers even though having a substantial amount of followers is merely an arbitrary measure of the channel’s popularity.

Some of his fans argue that it will be more significant when PewDiePie eventually reaches the 100 million subscriber figure on YouTube considering the fact that he’s an individual creator while T-Series is a company. There may be some logic to this argument but that’s a debate for another day.
