LG isn’t known for being quick to release software updates for its devices. The LG G7 didn’t receive its Pie update in the United States after almost a year of its being first rolled out. LG is currently rolling out the Pie update for the V30, a handset launched in 2017, for the international variant only.

LG V30 owners in the United States have drawn the short end of the stick as there’s no confirmation as yet when this update will finally be released for the V30 in the US. LG has released the update so far for the V30’s South Korean and European variants. It’s now rolling out the update for the international variant.

No other LG V30 variants have received the Android 9 Pie update so far and there’s little in the way of assurance from the company about when these variants will finally get the update. This includes the US variant as well.

LG had made a big deal about launching a software update center which would focus on rolling out updates quickly. That has turned out to be nothing more than a PR move. There has been no noticeable difference in the speed at which the company rolls out updates. Some would even argue that it has actually got slower than it used to be.
