beer

You don’t get to see this every day where a man tries to extinguish car engine fire with beer. Yes, that just happened.

A german man driving a Volkswagen Passat tried to put out the engine fire using beer. As per the sources, the man was driving along the Autobahn on Tuesday, when this incident happened.

First, he noticed a weird noise coming from the car – for which he stopped and checked under the hood to investigate. He could not find the possible root cause for the noise.

However, when he resumed driving to his destination, the car was in a plume of smoke and with flames in the engine. It was certainly a dangerous encounter because it is not advised to take any kind of action yourself with fire on your car – unless you know what you’re doing.

Once he noticed the flames, he ran to the back of his Passat to pull out a few beer bottles from the trunk. Next, he popped them open and poured them in an attempt to put out the fire. Fortunately, it worked.

The emergency crews did arrive on the scene soon enough – however, the man had taken care of fire with his clever thinking. If are wondering about the science, beer is normally carbonated (with carbon dioxide). So, the beer helped cut off the oxygen quickly – thereby putting out the fire.

A lot of you must be already knowing that – but the presence of mind of the man in an intense situation like that proved to be very helpful by minimizing the damage to the car.

This may not be the first time when someone used a beer to put out the fire. But, for controlling the engine fire, this is somewhat new and interesting.

What do you think happened to the engine of his car? Does it seem that using a beer could be the best solution to put out fires?
