One of the fun parts of going to a cinema is that you get to watch your movies on a huge display complete with surround sound. For certain movies, this only serves to enhance the overall experience. However, if you don’t like the crowds, screaming babies, and overpriced snacks, the alternative would be to watch the movie at home.

However, what if there was another way that you could enjoy the movie but not at home but also in a somewhat private setting? That’s what the folks at Dreamworld AR are trying to accomplish with their upcoming headset, the DreamGlass Air. This is an augmented reality (AR) glasses that will transport you into your own private theater.

This is thanks to its 2.5k resolution and also a 90-degree field of view display. According to Dreamworld AR, this is equivalent to a 100-inch display viewed at 1.5m, or a 200-inch display viewed at 3m, meaning that it should look pretty huge. It will be capable of projecting all kinds of media, meaning that it won’t be limited to just movies and that it is also applicable for games.

The designers of the headset have also made it in such a way that it can be folded, making it easy for users to bring it with them on a plane. It also boasts a 5 hour battery life which means that it should be good for a couple of movies, and with a price tag of $269, it is actually relatively affordable. It is currently on Kickstarter where it seems to have more than met its goal of raising $15,000.
