Final Fantasy VII Remake will be an exclusive to the Sony PS4. It is accepted that that is the case, but as it turns out, it isn’t necessarily 100% true. According to the box art for the upcoming game, there is mention that the exclusivity for the PS4 is a timed one and that it will run for about a year or so.

According to the label, it claims that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be a timed exclusive for the PS4 until the 3rd of March, 2021. After which, presumably the game will find its way to other platforms. However, there is no mention of which platforms the game will be available after that, although if we had to venture a guess, the Xbox will be a likely candidate and maybe the PC.

The Nintendo Switch is also another possibility as there are other Final Fantasy games for the console, but whether or not the Switch will have power to run the game will be a different story. That being said, in 2021 it is expected that we could see the next-gen consoles from both Microsoft and Sony, so maybe it could still be exclusive to Sony, but it will find its way to the PS5.

Either way, it is still quite a long ways to go before 2021, so if you’re not a PS4 gamer, then you’ll have to wait a bit before we can expect more details.
