Turn Your iPhone Into An iPod Classic With This App

While Apple’s CEO Tim Cook wants the company to be remembered for its contribution to health care, it’s probably safe to assume that there are many who would remember Apple for their contribution to music, especially with the iPod which kind of led the charge on the digital music front.

The iPod’s design is rather iconic with its trademark scroll wheel that allowed users to adjust the volume and control playback at the same time. However, in this day and age of touchscreen phones, the iPod has kind of faded into obscurity, but the good news is that if you did love the design, you can sort of relive it through an app called Rewound developed by Louis Anslow.

As you can see in the screenshots above, Rewound is a music app that will transform your iPhone into the iPod Classic, complete with a scroll wheel. However, as 9to5Mac notes, Rewound by default does not look like the iPod Classic due to Apple typically preventing apps from using its images. Instead, users will need to select a skin which will need to be downloaded after the app has been installed.

At the moment, Rewound only supports Apple Music but its developer notes that there are plans to support Spotify in the future.
