Samsung’s Galaxy Home Mini Is Now Available, Sort Of

galaxy home miniAccording to the rumors and reports, Samsung was expected to officially announce the availability of the Galaxy Home Mini smart speaker at its Unpacked event. That did not happen, but it seems that the speaker is actually now available, although not exactly in the way that many of us imagined.

In a report from TizenHelp, it has been discovered that over in Korea, Samsung has officially released the Galaxy Home Mini, but it seems that it will only be available if you were to pre-order the recently-announced Galaxy S20 smartphone. This offer will be valid until the 26th of February, although it does not mention if it will be available for purchase after that.

For those who are unfamiliar, the Galaxy Home Mini is essentially a smaller version of the Bixby-powered Galaxy Home. It follows in the footsteps of devices like the Amazon Echo Dot and the Google Nest Mini where it is targeting users who don’t necessarily need a smart speaker, but want the smarts of a digital assistant baked into one.

The smaller footprint also means that it should be more convenient to place around the house, while also being more affordable. The device was initially launched back in 2019 where it was was available as a beta for those living in Korea. There is still no word on wider availability, but hopefully Samsung will have more details soon.
