Apple Crushes The Competition With The iPhone 11

When Apple launched the iPhone XR, we were wondering if this could end up being like the iPhone 5c which turned out to be a flop. However, Apple proved the skeptics wrong where the iPhone XR sold like hotcakes. It looks like Apple might have another winner on their hands and also the key to a winning formula with the iPhone 11.

According to the latest research by Omdia, they have found that Apple’s iPhone 11 was the most shipped smartphone in the first half of 2020. The company estimated that Apple might have shipped an estimated 37.7 million iPhone 11 units so far, topping the iPhone XR’s shipped units by 10.7 million, which is pretty impressive.

They also found that coming in second place is Samsung’s Galaxy A51 with 11.4 million units shipped, suggesting that it did not even come close. Like we said, this seems to suggest that Apple has found a winning formula where it appears that customers don’t seem to mind skipping out on certain features if it means that they get to save a couple of hundred bucks.

To give you some context, the iPhone 11 is priced starting at $699, versus the iPhone 11 Pro which is priced starting at $999. Sure, it might not come with an OLED display and might lack an additional camera module, but if these shipping figures are accurate, it looks like the majority of customers don’t seem to mind.
