It has been a few years since CD Projekt RED completed their original trilogy for The Witcher series. The company has since moved on to other projects like Cyberpunk 2077, but for those who want to see more of The Witcher, you’ll be happy to learn that the studio has since announced a new saga.

According to the announcement, “Today’s announcement marks the first official confirmation of a new game in The Witcher series since the release of CD PROJEKT RED’s previous single-player, AAA RPG in the franchise — The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — which won a total of 250 Game of the Year awards and was later expanded upon with the Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine add-ons.”

We had previously heard that the company was looking to develop a new Gwent single-player game, so it is unclear if this new series has anything to do with that or if it will be a separate title.

Also, not much is known about the game right now because the focus of the announcement seems to be that the studio will not be using its REDengine, but will be making the shift to using Epic’s Unreal 5 engine. Unreal has been used in many games, whether it be mobile, desktop, or console gaming, so it will be interesting to see what this new series will look like.
