At IFA Berlin 2025, Acer pulled the wraps off its impressive Predator Helios 18P AI. While Acer’s Predator brand has long been recognized for its gaming laptops, the new Helios 18P AI is designed to be more than just a high-end gaming machine. The device combines workstation-class components with features more commonly associated with high-end gaming PCs, aiming to serve AI developers, content creators, and users who require reliable performance across various applications.

A New Breed of Mobile AI Workstation

At the heart of the Helios 18P AI is up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 285HX with Intel vPro, bringing workstation-grade stability and security to a portable form factor. Perhaps the most striking specification is its support for up to 192 GB of ECC memory — a rare inclusion in laptops. ECC (Error-Correcting Code) memory actively identifies and corrects data corruption, making the Helios 18P AI especially well-suited for AI researchers, data scientists, and creators handling massive files where precision is paramount.

On the graphics side, the system is equipped with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU (1824 AI TOPS). Beyond gaming, this GPU powers real-time AI workloads, complex simulations, and next-generation rendering tasks. Storage is just as forward-looking, offering up to 6 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD capacity for lightning-fast data access.

Display and Connectivity for Creators

The 18-inch Mini LED 4K WQUXGA (3840 × 2400) display is designed for professional-grade accuracy, featuring a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR mode with 1000 nits of brightness, and a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth motion. This combination ensures it’s just as comfortable color-grading a film as it is running a marathon gaming session.

Connectivity options are equally comprehensive. The laptop features two Thunderbolt 5 Type-C ports, three USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, and an SD card reader, alongside Wi-Fi 7 and Killer Ethernet for uncompromising bandwidth, whether wired or wireless.

Advanced Cooling for Extreme Loads

Packing this much power into a laptop demands cutting-edge cooling. Acer uses its dual 6th Gen AeroBlade metal fans — the world’s thinnest at just 0.05 mm — along with liquid metal thermal grease and vector heat pipes to keep thermals under control even under sustained heavy loads.

The result is a laptop that doesn’t just replace a desktop for professionals — it challenges it. For users who demand a machine that can handle tomorrow’s workloads while still excelling at today’s games, the Predator Helios 18P AI might be Acer’s most versatile Predator yet.

Acer did not share any information about pricing and availability.
