OnePlus has officially confirmed new details about the upcoming OnePlus 15R, revealing that the device will include a 7,400 mAh battery, the largest ever used in a OnePlus smartphone and reportedly the biggest battery found in a consumer smartphone in North America. This development positions the 15R as a device focused on endurance and longevity, particularly appealing to users who value long operating times without frequent charging.
The battery integrates OnePlus’s 55W SUPERVOOC fast-charging technology, which aims to deliver efficient power replenishment while maintaining long-term durability. According to the company, the battery is capable of retaining at least 80% of its original capacity after four years of use, an important metric considering concerns about degradation in modern smartphones. The technology behind this performance is linked to the use of Silicon Nanostack composition, containing 15% silicon in the anode to increase energy density and overall life span. OnePlus states that the battery is designed to function reliably even under demanding conditions, reinforcing its positioning as a long-lasting power solution.
In addition to battery improvements, OnePlus has confirmed that the 15R will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, marking it as the first phone to launch globally with this platform. The chip was reportedly co-developed and co-optimized over two years by OnePlus and Qualcomm, with a shared goal of ensuring top-tier performance tailored to the device’s system architecture. This collaboration is expected to enhance power efficiency, thermal management, and overall responsiveness.
The smartphone will also feature a 165 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, offering 450 pixels per inch along with a brightness range that reaches 1,800 nits, while dropping as low as 1–2 nits in low-light conditions for comfort. The screen has received TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certification, indicating that it includes features designed to reduce eye strain and improve long-term visual comfort.
Another highlighted function is the inclusion of Plus Mind, OnePlus’s new AI-assisted software system. The feature is intended to streamline digital organization by allowing users to send any on-screen content to the AI through a dedicated Plus Key. Plus Mind can store information, analyze it, and assist in tasks such as creating reminders or retrieving previously saved data more efficiently. The OnePlus 15R, along with the OnePlus Pad Go 2, is scheduled for a full reveal on December 17, 2025, where additional specifications and launch details are expected to be announced.
