The Zenbook A16 was introduced at CES 2026 and marks a significant extension of Asus’ developing Zenbook A series, taking the lineup into the competitive 16-inch ultrabook market in addition to the 14-inch form factor. As a lightweight substitute for conventional 16-inch laptops, the product was designed to blend performance efficiency with a large-display experience, all the while retaining high-end features and contemporary connectivity.
The Zenbook A series was first introduced last year with the Zenbook A14, a compact, Snapdragon-powered option aimed at users seeking long battery life and portability. This year, Asus refreshed this concept by updating the A14 with Qualcomm’s newer Snapdragon X2 Elite platform and introducing the Zenbook A16 as a larger counterpart. This approach allows Asus to target users who prefer a bigger screen without significantly increasing weight or thickness.
At the core of the Zenbook A16 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme chipset, featuring 18 Oryon CPU cores and a 65 W thermal design power. The system supports up to 48 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage, enabling smooth multitasking and efficient handling of productivity workloads. Powering the device is a 70 Wh battery, which is designed to deliver extended usage time in line with Asus’ focus on long-lasting, ARM-based computing.
Display quality is a key feature of the Zenbook A16. The laptop is equipped with a 16-inch OLED panel offering a 3K resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 1,100 nits. This configuration supports fluid visuals, strong contrast, and vivid color reproduction, making it suitable for both everyday productivity and media consumption. The design incorporates Asus’ Ceraluminum material, along with a dual-fan cooling system, Smart Gesture Touchpad, and smudge-resistant keycaps.
Despite its size, the Zenbook A16 remains notably portable, weighing approximately 1.2 kg and measuring between 13.8 mm and 16.5 mm in thickness. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, HDMI 2.1, USB4, USB Type-A, and an SD 4.0 card slot. Asus expects the Zenbook A16 to become available later this quarter, though pricing and a precise release date have not yet been announced. This product will also be featured in Ubergizmo’s Best of CES Awards.
