ZTE’s sub-brand, Nubia, has begun teasing its latest gaming-focused smartphone, the Neo 5 GT. The device is expected to be officially unveiled during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, which takes place from March 2 to March 5. Positioned as an accessible entry in the gaming segment, the Neo 5 GT aims to bring enthusiast-level thermal management to a broader audience.
Integrated Active Cooling
The most notable feature of the Neo 5 GT is its active cooling system. While internal mechanical fans are typically reserved for high-end flagship gaming phones, such as the RedMagic series, Nubia is integrating a dedicated fan into this more affordable model.
This fan works with an enlarged vapor chamber to maintain stable frame rates and prevent thermal throttling during prolonged gaming sessions.
Performance and Display Specifications
The device is powered by the Unisoc T9100 chipset. While this processor is not positioned as a top-tier flagship performer, its capabilities are bolstered by the aforementioned cooling hardware. The visual experience is centered around a 6.77-inch AMOLED display featuring:
-
Resolution: Full HD+
-
Refresh Rate: 120Hz
-
Peak Brightness: 1,200 nits
Gaming-Centric Hardware
To appeal to its target demographic, the Neo 5 GT includes several hardware-level gaming enhancements. These include dedicated R1 and L1 shoulder buttons, a hardware-based gyroscope for increased aiming precision, and a Z-axis linear motor designed to provide more distinct haptic feedback. Audio is handled by stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra certification.
Battery and Camera
The smartphone is equipped with a high-capacity 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. For photography, it features a 50MP primary rear camera using the NEOVISION imaging system and an 8MP front-facing sensor.
More details will be revealed in a couple of days, including the pricing and availability, so stay tuned!
