TCL has officially launched its high-end C8L SQD-Mini LED television series in Europe, a lineup known as the QM8L in the United States. This 2026 flagship series integrates significant advancements in display technology, audio engineering, and artificial intelligence to compete at the top tier of the premium TV market.
The core of this series is TCL’s proprietary SQD-Mini LED technology. The flagship 98-inch and 85-inch models achieve a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, enabling a superior High Dynamic Range (HDR) experience with high-contrast highlights and deep black levels. To manage this intensity, TCL utilizes 4,032 local dimming zones and “All-Domain Halo Control” technology to minimize blooming and light leakage.

Color accuracy is another focal point, with the series offering 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut. This is supported by an Ultra Color Filter and Super Quantum Dot layers, which work in tandem to optimize light control and color vibrancy. The physical build is equally advanced, featuring a ZeroBorder design and an ultra-slim profile that measures just 5 cm at its thinnest point, aided by Micro-OD optical components.
For performance, the C8L series is powered by the TSR AiPQ processor, which uses AI to enhance motion, contrast, and clarity in real-time. The panels support a native 144 Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted to 288 Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to accommodate high-end gaming requirements and reduce motion blur.

In a strategic partnership, TCL has equipped the C8L with a sound system tuned by Bang & Olufsen. The integration includes built-in Hi-END speakers and Beosonic technology, allowing users to customize their acoustic environment through an intuitive interface.
The launch of the C8L coincides with the introduction of the X11L flagship and the C7L series, further expanding TCL’s 2026 Mini LED ecosystem with varying levels of dimming precision and AI processing capabilities. For more information about TCL’s new TV series, check the official website.
