Redmi Note 17 Series Launched With Huge Battery And Low Price

The Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro have officially launched in China. The new smartphones introduce a revised design language, moving the centered camera module of previous generations to the top-left corner. Built with a polycarbonate frame and flat sides for improved grip, the devices offer notable upgrades in battery capacity and durability. The standard Note 17 features IP65 certification, while the Note 17 Pro upgrades this protection up to IP69K.

Display sizes differ between the two models. The Note 17 carries a 7-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, whereas the Pro variant houses a slightly smaller 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a higher 1.5K resolution and 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate and integrate an under-display fingerprint reader. Under the hood, the standard model runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, while the Pro variant is equipped with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. Memory options range from 6 GB to 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB to 512 GB of internal storage.

In the photography department, both smartphones include an 8 MP front camera and a 50 MP main rear sensor. The Pro version adds a secondary 2 MP depth lens. Powering the devices are remarkably large batteries: an 8,000 mAh cell with 45W charging on the Note 17, and a 9,000 mAh cell with 67W fast charging on the Pro. Software-wise, both run on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16.

Pricing starts at 1,299 yuan (~$179) for the base Note 17 and ranges up to 2,099 yuan (~$289) for the highest-tier Pro configuration. A global release schedule has not yet been announced.
