Cortana is a digital assistant similar to Siri in iPhone. While you need to say “Hey Siri” to summon the digital assistant on your iphone, you need to enable cortana on your Windows machine and then say “Hey Cortana” to make it work. Here’s how to make Cortana always listen for your commands.
Whether you have a desktop or a laptop – cortana will surely make things easier. However, do note that you cannot do everything with the help of a digital assistant i.e it does not give you the full control over the system via voice commands. For example, now Cortana isn’t able to recognize songs.
In order to utilize the assistant, you need to enable the ability for Cortana to respond when you say – “Hey, Cortana!”
Note: This guide refers to Windows 10 Pro Edition (Version: 1709, Build: 16299.125). If you’re using an earlier build or an insider build, you might find the options different.
