When it comes to virtual assistants, depending on the phone and platform you use, you could be using any number of virtual assistants ranging from Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant, and so on. But if there was a “world’s biggest” title when it comes to digital assistants, would Siri necessarily be a name that comes to mind?

Apparently that is the case, according to market research firm Futuresource, where they claim that Siri is the world’s biggest virtual assistant where it commands a 35% share of the global virtual assistant market. As iMore points out, this sort of makes sense when you consider the fact that Siri is shipped on pretty much every Apple product.

This includes devices like the iPhone, iPad, the Apple Watch, the HomePod, and every Mac computer. Also, based on that logic, it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that Microsoft’s Cortana comes in second place with a 22% market share due to the sheer number of Windows computers there are in the market today.

If accurate, it’s actually interesting to see that Siri is leading the way. We would have easily assumed that Google Assistant might be in the lead due to Android being the dominant platform when it comes to smartphones, but it looks like we would have been wrong.
