Verizon will soon begin selling another 5G smartphone on its network. It was the first carrier in the United States to offer the 5G Galaxy S10. It actually had exclusivity on this variant for about a month. Verizon today confirmed that it will begin selling the LG V50 ThinQ 5G from June 20th.
LG’s take on the foldable smartphone trend is a bit different than what you’d expect after seeing Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X. It’s basically a second display for the V50 ThinQ, LG’s 5G flagship smartphone. According to a new report, LG will release the Dual Screen V50 ThinQ in South Korea later this week.
LG was supposed to release its first 5G phone in its home country of South Korea this month. Given that its rival Samsung has already put the Galaxy S10 5G on the market in the country, many were looking towards LG to respond. The company has responded, but it’s actually delaying the launch of the LG V50 ThinQ.
At MWC 2019, LG took the wraps off two brand new handsets in the form of the LG G8 and the LG V50 ThinQ. Many smartphone manufacturers are out in full force at the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona with their 5G smartphones and LG is one of them. The LG V50 ThinQ 5G is the Korean conglomerate’s first smartphone to be compatible with the next-generation network. It will be exclusive to Sprint initially but Verizon has also confirmed that it will eventually begin selling the device.
The LG G8 new high-volume flagship handset has just been announced alongside the LG V50, LG’s first high-end phone. Typically, the G-Series is the high-end model with a milder price, while the V-Series holds nothing technologically, but costs a premium over the G-Series.
