HMD Global, the Finnish company that makes Nokia-branded smartphones now, launched an updated version of its budget handset Nokia 6 in China earlier this year in January. The company was eventually going to release the Nokia 6 (2018) in other markets as well. Nokia fans in the United States who were looking forward to this device will now be able to purchase one as HMD Global has released Nokia 6 […]
HMD Global, the company that’s making Nokia-branded smartphones now, has developed a bit of a reputation for sending out fast Android updates. That’s certainly not a bad reputation to have as customers often want to receive the latest updates as soon as possible which can be wishful thinking on a platform as fragmented as Android. Those who own a Nokia 5 or Nokia 6 (2017) should keep an eye out […]
HMD Global recently released the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the new iteration of the Nokia 6 that was launched earlier this month. It said at that time that it’s going to release the Oreo update for the original Nokia 6 in the near future as well. That day is today. The original Nokia 6 is now receiving its Android 8.0 Oreo update.
Nokia launched a new iteration of the Nokia 6 earlier this month in China. Aptly called the Nokia 6 (2018), the handset came with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box even though many would have expected it to be running Android 8.0 Oreo. However, the company isn’t making users wait a very long time for the next major update. It has released Android 8.0 Oreo for the Nokia 6 […]
Earlier this week it was reported that HMD Global would be launching a new Nokia handset on the 5th of January, 2018, and sure enough they have. The company has officially announced the Nokia 6 that has been launched in China. If you’re wondering why this sounds familiar, it is because the Nokia 6 isn’t exactly a new phone per se.
The Nokia 6 was the first handset that HMD Global launched under the Nokia brand. It was the first such device in the post-Microsoft era. The handset was initially released in China before it was made available elsewhere. The company has now started teasing a new handset launch for January 5th. It’s expected to be a revised version of the Nokia 6.
HMD Global, the Finnish company that’s making Nokia-branded devices now, confirmed several months ago that it was going to release the Nokia 6 in the United States. This handset has been immensely popular elsewhere so it will be interesting to see how it fares in the U.S. Customers in the country who have been waiting to get their hands on one can finally do so today. The Nokia 6 is […]
Folks in the United States who have been looking forward to picking up Nokia’s new affordable handset will be able to do so come July 10th. It was confirmed several weeks ago that Nokia 6 would be making its way to the United States. The handset will be available for purchase unlocked and off-contract via Amazon on the aforementioned date.
Nokia fans have been waiting for the new handsets to arrive in the United States. It may not be long before they do make an appearance in online and brick-and-mortar stores Stateside. After the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5, the Nokia 6 U.S. release also draws near now that the handset has received the customary certification from the Federal Communications Commission.
The Nokia that you’ve known for a long time doesn’t exist anymore. That company doesn’t make smartphones on its own anymore but it did license its iconic brand to HMD Global, another Finnish company, that’s now going to make and sell smartphones under the Nokia brand. At the Mobile World Congress 2017 today, HMD Global unveiled three new smartphones that are running pure Android.
HMD Global has revived the Nokia brand and brought it back to the smartphone market. Its Nokia 6 handset has been making waves recently as more than one million registrations were received for the device before its first flash sale in which it sold out in under one minute. Registrations have now crossed 1.4 million prior to the second Nokia 6 flash sale due January 26th.
We knew that Nokia still had strong brand loyalty despite not having created any mobile devices for the past few years, but we have to admit that we did not think it would be this strong. According to the reports, it seems that when the Nokia 6 finally went on sale today, it was sold out in under a minute.
The first Nokia Android smartphone that HMD Global comes charging out the door with is the Nokia 6 that was announced earlier this month. However instead of dazzling us with amazing hardware specs and features, the Nokia 6 feels more like a mid-range affair, but apparently that did not stop 250,000 people registering their interest within 24 hours.
Earlier this week, the Nokia 6 was officially launched in China. This is the Android smartphone that we can expect to see as a result of the licensing agreement between HMD Global and Nokia, which we guess in a way heralds the return of the Finnish phone company. Turns out we weren’t alone in our excitement.
The other day HMD Global announced the Nokia 6. This is a new Nokia Android smartphone that features a pretty sleek design, although its specs aren’t exactly what many would consider to be high-end. It was also launched in China which seemed to suggest that it could be limited to the Chinese market, or at least Asia.
