With the launch of the 2016 MacBook Pros, it was pretty much confirmed that Apple was done with one of its best inventions ever, the MagSafe charging connector. This meant that users looking for similar functionality had to turn to third-party solutions, such as the BreakSafe from Griffin just to name a few.

However for the most part such accessories were limiting in the sense that they did one thing and one thing only, which is to offer charging for the MacBook Pro, but thanks to a Kickstarter project for an accessory called the MagNeo, it seems to have taken MagSafe to whole new levels as not only does it offer charging capabilities, but it will also facilitate data transfers, and there is also support for video up to 5K.

The only downside is that the MagNeo is definitely not the prettiest design we’ve seen and unlike the other options out there, doesn’t exactly blend in with the MacBook Pro. However if you’re not fussy about these sorts of things, then the MagNeo is definitely a feature-rich accessory that could be worth checking out.

If you’re interested in pledging your support for the MagNeo, then hit up its Kickstarter page for the details. At this time of posting the project has managed to raise over $20,000 and is still shy of its $35,000 goal.
