While the iPod might have sold a phenomenal amount since its introduction, RCA is going against the grain by offering alternatives to Apple’s successful range of digital media players. Known as the Gem Line brand, you get the RCA Opal PMP that stores up to 680 songs or 8 hours of video, featuring compatibility with music download and subscription services such as eMusic, Yahoo! Music, and Napster among others. Other devices in the same line are the RCA Pearl which is a USB flash drive and music player, the RCA Jet player for gym buffs, and the RCA Jet Stream which features wireless headphone connectivity. The Opal, Pearl, and Jet players retail for $75, $49, and $69 respectively.
