Novatel Unveils MiFi Pocket Router

Novatel has recently offered its MiFi pocket router for HSPA-based 3G to customers on AT&T and Rogers. Also known as the MiFi 2372 HSPA, it offers subscribers on these networks up to 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, allowing one to create an on-the-spot Wi-Fi hotspot with sharing capabilities of up to 5 different devices connected to it. In addition, should you want to do some heavy uploading, it also boasts full HSUPA for up to 5.76Mbps upstream assuming either carrier adopt the standard in the future. There is no word on whether the new router will be available as a standalone device, nor its pricing or shipping date, although signs point toward AT&T or Rogers selling it at a subsidy.
