Sony announces new memory cards

Sony doesn’t look like quitting the Memory Stick game as they have recently announced their 32GB PRO-HG Duo HX card and a 32GB PRO Duo card, doubling the capacity of current products in a flash (pun not intended). The former was developed to see action mostly on Sony’s Handycam camcorders, Alpha DSLRs and Cyber-shot compact cameras, featuring a 20MBps peak read speed and 15MBps peak write speed which makes it approximately thrice as fast compared to Sony’s PRO Duo media card. As for the PRO Duo Memory Stick, this will target all round use. Expect the 32GB PRO-HG Duo HX Memory Stick and 32GB PRO Duo Memory Stick to retail for $249 and $200, respectively, when they arrive at the end of next month.
