Epson Comes Up With Tiny LCD Panels

It sure seems like everything is trying to go digital nowadays, and not even your useful viewfinders are spared. Epson has already started producing small, high-temperate polysilicon LCD panels that aren’t just 0.47 inches in diagonal size, but also boast an impressive 800 x 600 resolution. The panel is meant to be used as an electronic viewfinder (EVF) on digital cameras, and it’s certainly crisp enough to replicate the traditional optical eyepiece. Epson has already planned to put the new EVF screen into production sometime soon, and has plans for a 2.07 megapixel, full HD version in the future at the request of camera manufacturers, which might possibly include Panasonic, Olympus and some others.
