Mac Developer License Drops To $99 A Year

If you’re a Mac developer, Apple has some rather good news for you, as the fruity company has lowered its Mac developer license price to $99, which is a steep drop from the original entry point of $499. There is a downside to this though, as Mac hardware discounts are notably missing, though it’s probably a valid argument that the $400 price drop is also a discount. While this is good news for the developers, is there anything in it for the end user? It’s a long (very long) shot, but some parties are speculating that Apple might be considering an App Store for Mac. Considering the incredible success Apple has had with the App Store on the iPhone, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to think that Apple might just want to do the same for its Macs. What do you think?
