JBL OnStage Micro 2 iPhone Speaker Dock

JBL OnStage Micro 2 iPhone Speaker Dock

We’ve got our hands on the new JBL OnStage Micro II, and we took it for a spin. First, a quick description is in order: this is an iPod Touch/iPhone speaker dock that can be connected via USB to a computer for data-sync purposes. The dock also has a 6V DC input for charging the iPhone and to power the speakers. In the unit, there’s also a compartment for four AA batteries, in case you want to use it on the go. There’s also an auxiliary audio input for non-iPod devices (or for a computer).

The sound was pretty impressive for a speaker of that size, even if the bass where a little weak. That’s a pretty neat speaker for a desk and it is much smaller than many PC computer speakers that people typically use, so this could eventually be a replacement for computer speakers too. At $99, this docks has a few competitors, but do check the size/sound quality ratio. If you are curious, check the user manual.
