RunCore Kylin II SSD drive uses SandForce-based controller

The Kylin II SSD drive from RunCore will rely on the popular SandForce-based controller that also comes with Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface, where you can choose from either 2.5″ or 3.5″ form factors to suit your everyday computing needs. Apart from that, there is also an integrated error correction code that helps make sure errors when reading and writing of data does not occur, while power-down protection adds another layer of security and safety to the mix. An on-board temperature sensor also makes sure you will be kept informed at all times of its current temperature so that you can take emergency action should the operating situation goes beyond normal. Other features include a relatively low power consumption of 2.6W, 64MB cache, 270MB/s read and 260MB/s write speeds. Fancy picking one up? It will come in 50GB to 400GB capacities, with no word on pricing just yet. SSDs or hard drives? We guess the market is big enough to hold both at the moment due to different needs and budgets.
