Want an easy solution to allow your homemade robot to navigate around the house? Why don’t you just bolt a few Roomba robot vacuums together and let them navigate around your house? That’s what the folks over at the University of Bonn’s Autonomous Intelligent Systems Lab did, which resulted in the QuadDrive Roomba. If the name didn’t give it away, this setup has four Roombas hooked up via four servos connected to the base of the robot, and since they’re vacuum cleaners, this robot cleans as it goes too!
