Sony Ericsson offers Android 2.1 upgrade plans for slew of Xperia X10 models

Sony Ericsson has just announced that they will be introducing Android 2.1 upgrade plans for three Xperia models – we’re talking about the X10, X10 mini and X10 mini pro. All three will receive the Android 2.1 update sometime this coming Q3, although it will happen in selected markets only – hopefully North America will be part of it. Apart from that, the X10’s camera will also receive HD video recording capability with this new update. When Q4 2010 rolls around, however, the Xperia X10 will also feature a new update that will tweak the onboard Timescape and Mediascape apps with added refinements, letting it hook up wirelessly to a compatible TV while sending multimedia content over from the handset for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
