NOOK for Android is now available

Barnes & Noble has just announced the availability of its NOOK for Android software that will obviously run off Android-powered smartphones and devices. This is the latest addition to Barnes & Noble’s slate of free, popular eReader software, and is currently the only Android eReader application which allows one to share eBooks with friends. The future will see updated versions of NOOK for iPhone, NOOK for iPad and others, but Android owners reign supreme currently thanks to this latest release which will play nice with both NOOK 3G and NOOK Wi-Fi eBook Readers. It will run on devices that run on at least Android 1.6 or higher, offering key features such as going through Barnes & Noble’s vast eBookstore on your handheld, gaining access to your personal B&N digital library, and reading according to your style with 8 different font types to choose from and five sizes, among others. You can download NOOK for Android here if you haven’t done so already. [Press Release]
