Panasonic HM-TA1 is a full HD mobile camcorder for those who lead active lifestyles

Cisco’s Flip camcorder has certainly allowed many people to capture their favorite memories in video format over the past few years in a simple manner, and Panasonic sees an opening in this market with the announcement of their new Panasonic HM-TA1 full HD mobile camcorder. Capable of shooting video in 1920 x 1080 pixels, it is ideal for on-the-go shooting opportunities while slipping into your pocket without much trouble thanks to its candybar form factor. Just like the Flip, this comes with an integrated USB terminal and software that lets you upload videos in a jiffy to online sharing sites including YouTube and Facebook without having to go through any video conversion process.

Not only that, the TA1 also boasts support for the Apple iFrame video format (960 x 540/30p), making it ideal for Mac users as well. To sweeten the deal, Panasonic has allowed the HM-TA1 to function as a Web camera and microphone, where it will play nice with a wide range of IP-based video chat programs. Want to capture still photos? Not a problem, as the HM-TA1 can also shoot 8-megapixel stills, where all data will be stored onto an SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card. Other features include a 2″ LCD monitor, a built-in LED light, E.I.S. (Electrical Image Stabilization), digital zoom up to 4x, and color effects when shooting. Available in purple, dark grey and red colors, the Panasonic HM-TA1 will arrive in markets next month for $169.95. [Press Release]
