T-Mobile to out largest 4G network in the US in November 2010

Mark November on your calendar boys and girls, if you’re someone who wants nothing but the superlatives in life. T-Mobile is working hard to make available the largest 4G network Stateside from next month onwards, branding their HSPA+ network as 4G. We don’t really care what do you call it, as long as the speed is fast enough to qualify as a next generation version of wireless communications. For those who love to get technical, the ITU Radiocommunication Sector defines 4G as an advanced cellular system that “must have target peak data rates of up to approximately 100 Mbps for high mobility such as mobile access”. You have alternatives of “4G” at the moment, with Sprint and their WiMAX, while Verizon is nurturing their 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) network. With T-Mobile stating their intention to double the speeds to 42Mbps next year, you’re in for a treat if you happen to live under T-Mobile’s area coverage with the right hardware, of course.
