Japanese telecommunications company Nakayo is preparing an IP home phone that will feature an integrated 7-inch Android-powered tablet. The good news is that the tablet will be able to function independently as a web browsing device and will also be suitable for video calls. The phone hasn’t received an official name just yet, but it will support the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and be powered by Android 2.2. The device features Wi-Fi b/g, an 800 x 480 pixel resolution display, USB port, VGA camera, and microSDHC card expansion up to 32GB. Nakayo is planning to offer the system in Japan from July this year, though the price hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
