Whispers of a successor to Sony’s A700 DSLR camera have been going around for a while and now Sony has released a teaser image that shows a transparent case, hinting at the transparent mirror within, similar to that which is found on the A55 and A33. The transparent mirror would allow for advanced, real-time autofocus while capturing stills or HD video. The camera will feature an Exmor CMOS sensor and while Sony didn’t officially mention how many megapixels it will offer, speculation hints at something around 20-megapixels. Sony has also announced a new battery grip and a new flash for the camera, though the company didn’t go into details. The A77 is slated to ship later this year, so you’ve still got a little time to save those pennies.
