Hermes iPad 2 case costs more than the tablet itself

Hermes iPad 2 cases

Everybody loves protecting their gadgets, which is why we have such a huge market for cases, screen protectors and bags for them. And as you know, the more popular a gadget is, the larger the selection of such accessories. One of the most popular tablets of all time is the iPad, and you’d be hard pressed to find a computer accessory store that doesn’t sell a case for it. But here’s some cases you won’t be finding in every store you walk into. By French high-fashion house, Hermes, the Hermes Swift sleeve and Hermes Station are both cases for the iPad 2. The Hermes Swift (pictured left) is just a regular protective sleeve case that you can slide your iPad 2 into when it’s not in use to keep it protected. The Hermes Station (pictured right) is a bit more interesting. It is a protective case that opens up to turn into a stand for you to view content on, though with a back like that, it might not be sturdy enough for you to do heavy typing on. Both cases are made from fine calf-skin leather and are available now – the Hermes Swift comes in 10 colors  and will cost around $820, while the Hermes Station comes in 4 colors and will cost about $1,400. Would you pick one of these over the $29-$69 Smart Cover from Apple?
