TrapCall: the iPhone app that unmasks blocked numbers

TrapCall

If you’ve ever had problems with prank callers interrupting your sleep or your day with anonymous calls, and you’ve had no luck finding out who they are, TrapCall for the iPhone might be what you need.

Spending a hefty 201 days in review (that’s more than half a year!), the app has finally been approved on the app store and is now up for download. TrapCall is said to be the only app in the world capable of unmasking blocked and private phone calls.

Here’s how the app is supposed to work: when you get a call from a blocked/private number, just hit the power button twice and TrapCall will do its job and trace the call for you. Besides giving you the unmasked number, the $5/month service provides you with a name and address as well via a text message or push notification.

It’s unclear how this got approved by Apple, since it clearly doesn’t sound very legal, however the implications that it can put an end to prank calls for iPhone users make the app noteworthy.

Other features of TrapCall include: voicemail to text conversion, an option to play a fake “disconnected” message for numbers on your blacklist, and alerts about missed calls for when your phone is off. Trap Call is available now for free on the Apple App Store.
