Looking for a new gaming headset to pair up with your PlayStation 3? Sony has you covered. The company announced its new official wireless PS3 stereo headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound. According to Sony, the headset is special in that it provides on-screen info about its battery status and sound controls and has a retractable mic.

These aren’t Bluetooth though, it requires a USB dongle attached to your PS3 to achieve what Sony calls “the highest quality voice chat for crystal clear conversations.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t really need to hear someone cuss at me any louder or clearer during a heated match of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

If you’re already drooling all over this headset like I am, then you’ll have to wipe all that slobber off. This headset doesn’t go on sale until September for a cool $99.99.
