Foxconn iPad 2 plant reopens after accident

It looks like all is well at the iPad 2 plant in Foxconn again. After the terrible accident that happened a few weeks ago that left 3 dead and 15 injured, the facility has been reopened for production. While the details of the investigation weren’t released, it looks like there was nothing out of place since the plant was allowed to reopen again.

And it appears that Apple’s iPad supply hasn’t been affected by the accident at all, despite what analysts had predicted. Shipping times for the iPad 2 on Apple’s online store remain at 1-2 weeks, just like it was before the accident, which probably means Apple already had enough stock to keep up with demand during the time period that the plant was closed.

While it’s good to know that everything is well again, our thoughts still go out to the workers that are still injured and the families of the deceased. Let’s hope such an accident never has the chance to happen again.
